A Visit to Ronda

Ronda, often hailed as “the most romantic city in Spain.”

Ronda’s enchanting atmosphere and authentic character captivate all who visit. It’s no wonder this picturesque town inspired literary greats like Ernest Hemingway and Orson
Welles.

We visited recently and had the most wonderful time .The drive from Marbella takes comfortably 1 hour and the views are breathtaking.

We stayed in the beautiful 4 star  https://www.cataloniahotels.com/es/hotel/catalonia-reina-victoria?mb=1  which was spectacular .

We included a visit to the Schatz organic winery . https://f-schatz.com/  where we were shown a tour and briefed on the history of winemaking in Ronda by the lovely Gema.

We wandered by foot from our hotel to the famous Bullring Plaza de Toros, Ronda’s most iconic monument: the, the oldest bullring in the world.

We then strolled a little further to the  Puente Nuevo (New Bridge).

This iconic bridge spans the El Tajo Gorge, offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and the Guadalevín River below.

La Ciudad (Old Town)
We spent a lot of our time in this charming area with cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and a peaceful atmosphere. We visited the Arab baths and had lunch in one of our favourite wine bars, which you will also find in La Cala and also in Frigiliana.

There is so much to see and experience in Ronda and on my next visit I want to tour the LA  Almazara organic olive mill and museum. https://almazaralaorganic.com/en/la-almazara/

This tour can be customised as a day tour or Liana can arrange for you to stay a night.
